I decided to change over to a new address to better represent our whole family since Peter will not be the only child soon. You can check for updates at Felix Fam.

It is a...

It is a...

BABY!!

Our newest member is camera shy and did not want to show us anything at our ultrasound on Friday. We do know that the baby has a great brain, skull, and spine. We will get another peek in 3 weeks because there were many organs that this little one did not show us. I sure hope it is more willing to show us the check off list for the doctor. Until then "Pong" shall hide from us.

The Western Washington Fair 2007

We went to the fair last weekend and met up with our friends Steph, Owen (who is Peter's age), and Jeff. We all had a wonderful time other then all of the rain. Luckily, I got my yearly shot of Peter at the pumpkin patch before the rain fell. The day before, Noel and Christy brought over an adorable John Deere shirt because they know I am obsessed with John Deere. He was so cute in the top.

Updates on Our Lives

First of all, my baby is 2!! How can this be?? We are in shock but we are loving it, most of the time. He is such a busy boy but very social. He loves to tell people hi and talk their ears off. I wonder where he got that from?

He had a wonderful birthday party with his grandparents here visiting, except my father but he will be up in October. He had such a great time with all of the people that he loves. That next week he started back at daycare and they keep telling me how happy they are to have him back. He jumped right into the routine and is loving it. Sometimes, he does not even want to go home.

School started for Rob and I this last week. Rob's schedule changed at the last moment and that flipped him out a bit. He is now teaching the 6th grade choir kids who are stuck together for all of their subjects. He is teaching AP math and science and general ed math and science. The crazy thing is that there are 42 girls and 2 boys all together. I have started my classes of kindergartens and am loving it. Once I have them trained, it will be even better. There is a lot of promise.

So, for the big news. I am 11 weeks pregnant. We are very excited. Peter has been spending lots of time with my friend's baby but has some jealousy issues, which is to be expected. He is always pointing out baby pictures though. We have already had a ultrasound to find out the due date and I am due March 29. That is the first day of Spring Break and our guess on when Rob's Blaine Math Competition is. His teaching partner has offered to go. He will be there except if I am in labor. I know how important the competition is to him. Plus, he has a whole group of students who already want to get Math Club going so they can get working. He is very excited about it.

Once last thing is that we bought Peter's Halloween costume today. It was so funny. I have been wanting to get him a doggy costume because he likes to pant like a dog and bark. Instead, at Old Navy, we found a monkey costume and a lion costume. I asked him which one he wanted to be and he told me "lion". I asked for clarification by making the animal sounds and he responded with a "roar," so we bought the costume. He had a rough time trying it on at first but when Daddy was home later, he loved it. Check out some of the pictures.

Allergist Appt.

Peter had an allergist appt. yesterday. We know that wheat is still an issue so we did not test him on that at all. We did test his milk allergy and he no longer shows a milk allergy with the scratch test. That is great news. We are not sure when we are going to start challenging the milk in his diet, especially with the start of school right now, but we will do it soon.

Peter also had his first experience with a scale that you stand on. He loved to bounce on it. The nurse finally gave him a sticker to play with and got his weight. Peter is now a square. He is as heavy as he is tall: 35.5 inches tall and 35.5 lbs.

Potty Training

Last week I bought Peter a potty chair. I bought him the Boon Potty Chair. I was not expecting much, but he has had a major fascination with the toilet so we should just try. When I go to the bathroom he runs up to me and says diaper, I take off the diaper, and he sits on the potty. Last night he told me diaper so I asked him "potty?" and he ran into the bathroom, I took off his diaper, and he sat there. Nothing happened as usual. Later he started straining so I thought I would take advantage of it. I ran him into the potty and took off his diaper. He sat there singing and being silly so I thought nothing had happened. Then he got up and I found that he had pooped in the potty!!! Yeah!!! We did a little dance and got him changed into his pj's. I can't believe my baby went poop in the potty. Now the trick is having him go again.

Sick

Peter has been teething really bad but has had a fever for the past 5 days. This makes sense with teething. He also has not been sleeping, really runny nose, cough, and the cough is now so bad that he needs his inhaler. So, Rob finally took him to the doctor. He has another ear infection, a cold, and teething. The poor thing and the poor parents who have not slept in days. We are exhausted. On the happy note, the little one is not so little. He is 32 lbs!!!

One last thing, Katie only has one week of school left and Rob has a week and a half. Summer here we come!

Big Boy Bed

The furniture arrived for Peter's room and he has been sleeping in his new bed since Sunday night. He is actually going down in his own room finally and started sleeping through the night last week. It is a happy change but still a lot of work. I know it will get better over the summer though.

Bad Blogger + Bonus

I have been awful at blogging lately. Sorry. I have even falling behind for the 365 blog. I don't think I have uploaded anything since Sunday. I will hopefully get up to date this weekend. I do have a video to share with you. Sorry about the lighting but we did get Peter to sing, unfortunately it was the end of his performance and he was wearing down. It is still funny. I have a feeling there are going to be many more videoes coming because he LOVES to sing!!! He is defintely his daddy in that way.

Sick Again

Another ear infection has hit Peter but this time he also has a bigger problem. He has sores throughout his mouth and they make him not want to eat. The poor boy is eating maybe a muffin per meal. Dinner tonight was a big deal because he ate 2 frozen pancakes and a slice and a half of apple. It is so hard to watch him have this issue. He went to the doctor yesterday and even though he had not eaten really in two days, he was 29lbs. 2oz. He really is packing on the pounds any more. Sorry grandma, he is getting out of your weight limit.

So Behind - Once Again

I am so behind on Peter's blog but I just uploaded more photos of him on our 365 Project. He is now 19 months old, don't ask me how that happened. He is walking, talking, and being a goof all of the time. We have lost track of how many words he knows. He carries on long conversations, but you can only understand half of what he is saying.

At his 18 month appt., he was 27.5 lbs and 32.5 inches long. All was looking good. His find motor is slightly delayed still but he is definitely doing all the stuff he really needs to be doing. His balance is off a bit.

The is no question that he is all boy. He is a rough and tumble boy. His daycare tells us that he is honorary. He even has a girl that he hangs out with. The other day when they were getting ready for nap, he laid right down for that girl, she put the blanket on him and patted his back until he was asleep. Mind you she is only 2 months younger then him. He is so his father.

PT, Dentist, and Sleeping

Peter had a very busy day today. He started out the morning with Rob going to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital for another PT (Physical Therapy) Evaluation. They decided that he is progressing quite nicely and they don't need to see him until July, and only then if we are still concerned. They gave Rob a great bit of news that Stride Rite has shoes at Target and that is where we ill be shopping for Peter's next pair of shoes. Rob then took Peter to daycare.

I picked Peter up for his first dentist appointment. He did not really let the dentist look but that is all right. At least he is now in the system.

Just a few minutes ago, I picked Peter up off of my bed because Rob and he fell asleep. They are both very tired boys. I am feeling quite tired to so I think I am going to be joining them very soon. Good night!

Pantry

We got our Pantry done by California Closets. It is so nice and is so user friendly now. Peter even has his own section, and no it is not the wine section.

Singing

Peter loves to sing and dance. Stomach flu went around our family last week and while Rob and I were trying to rest in bed, Peter was standing at my clock radio and turning it on and off so that he could dance to the music. This is typical for him. Anytime he hears music he loves to dance. He loves singing Twinkle, Twinkle and Itsy Bitsy Spider. The Wiggles were singing a song yesterday and Rob looked at Peter who was doing all of the motions and trying to sing the song. I will try to get some video and upload it so you can hear his beautiful singing voice.

Sleeping

We had a very busy weekend. Peter and I went to Bellevue to go visit my aunt and her grandchildren. My aunt was visiting from Virginia and my cousins now live here but I had not seen them yet. The girls, Kindergarten and 4th grade ages, had a great time with Peter and by the end they where tickle attacking him and he was rolling on the floor laughing.

On Sunday, Peter was exhausted and quite upset at the two molars that are trying to cut in. He took 2x2 hour naps. He loved playing with Noel and Christy and showing them that he really can walk. That evening he was a stinker for Rob getting him down but finally went down and boy did he sleep, he slept all the way until 5am. I did not sleep because I kept worrying about if my baby was dead or not. When he did come to our bed he was wide awake but all cuddly and was putting his arm around me. It was just too cute.

Well, last night I knew that the sleep thing would not happen again. At midnight, Rob said that he thought he heard Peter. I got up to check on him, he was sitting in his doorway staring up at me like isn't time to go to your bed now? I slept much better though.

This boy's sleeping is just crazy!

Watch 2nd!!

Peter butt scooting

At first you don't succeed: videotape, videotape, videotape!

So I had the camera out tonight because Peter was being so cute eating his avocado off of his corn tortilla (yes he was eating something similar to what we were having for dinner and it was the second night in a row of this). Later in the evening, I wanted to try to videotape him walking. Of course the little stinker just butt scooted. The second time around I was not ready and he walked all the way from the chair near the door to the kitchen and I didn't get it on videotape. The other times he butt scooted. I told Rob that this was going to be my last time videotaping because Peter was getting whiny and I got him walking. At first he wobbled and then the video starts. He did whine at the end but we have footage. We hope you enjoy.

Click on the highlighted text to see the videoes.

Walking

Peter took his first steps out into the land of "no furniture to grab" today. I got so excited I called Rob, not knowing that he was right there. The problem was that this scared Peter and he stopped walking and sat down. He did such a great job. I think he will be everywhere soon.

Walking, Talking, and Just Having Fun

Peter has been getting so much more confident with walking. He has regularly been walking between Rob and I but today he actually let go of a piece of funiture and walked over to another peice of furniture. There was a full stop in there too. I was so proud, I stopped talking midsentence to watch him do this. He was also all over his father, giving him a ton of kisses, and just playing while squatting over and over again. Work those muscles baby!

At one point in the evening, he decided to climb the stairs and I went and turned our desktop computer on. As he was sitting on my lap he picked up the reciever of the phone, the old style one with no buttons on the receiver, and he said hello. I decided to call my parents. He then had a 10 minute conversation with my dad and when I saw that he was about done I told him to say bye and he did along with a wave. It was just too funny. My dad loved it.

On a side note, for those of you who know about my mom's fall yesterday, she is home now. She has no pins in her ankle like dad previously thought. They just did surgery to set it. She has another surgery in two weeks but they are trying to find her a doctor closer to home, not one that is 70 miles away. She is happy to be home and will be out of work for a couple of weeks. I need to say that my dad really stepped up to the plate and has been doing a wonderful job. I also have to say that this has shown my mom how much she is loved by her coworkers. One of them drove her car all the way home for her today. She has also been having numerous phone calls and visits, when she was in the hosptital, and this has helped her. Thank you everyone for your support.

Sleeping Situation

We have a new sleeping situation. A friend suggested to me over Christmas that maybe we should put Peter's mattress down on the floor because he seems to be really scared of the crib. After lots of him playing tonight instead of going to sleep and lots of screaming when I put him in the crib, I set him up on the floor. Within a few minutes he was asleep. Now we have to see how long he lasts there. I did also set him up with a great pillow that may make him feel more comfy. Time will tell.
